As long as you can provide a good, safe and stable home for the baby I have never heard of them being biased against pregnant woman. Just make sure you guys get it done legally. Since you are family I think it may just be a matter of her signing over her rights to you but make sure it is done legally. Much easier than going through adoption agencies or the state if she just gives the baby up for adoption and you have to go through the whole rigermaroll as anyone else off the street.

You can
How do you feel about it? Having 2 babies so close in age?

That's a decision for you and your husband to make. Are you in a financial situation where you could raise two babies that would be so close in age, do you have the room, would it cause a lot of drama between you guys and your SIL, and most importantly, would you WANT to adopt her baby?

Legally, yes you could. You have to consider if it's something you would realistically do. There are a lot of factors to consider, mental, financial, space in your house. Raising two that are 9 weeks apart is just about the same as raising twins.

Yes you could but I personally wouldn't.

Would she be okay with seeing the baby around holidays, family gathering, or visiting? That would be my concern along with questioning whether or not she will be okay with the way I discipline the LO (when it's time for that) or would she say something about it? Also, would she or you all want the LO to know about everything? Is the bio dad aware of this decision?

Sorry, for the overload of questions, it's just some of things DH and I thought about when it came to possibly giving up DD2 to my sister who isn't able to conceive children.

I do know that most lawyers and what not try to push for family to keep the LO's.

We don't think it would make family events awkward.
We have enough room in our house for two kids.
I think it would be nice having them so close in age

She says she would be able to handle family gatherings an ect.
She wants to do what is right for the baby and she wants to go to college and have kids when she is older and can provid for a child

If you strongly believe you can deal with it then go for it if you're ready.
