A lot use it as a formula substitute. I guess it's the closest substitute for breast milk.

I was allergic to all formula as a baby and its what I was raised on. So was my mom and sperm donor.

Yup! There's goats milk formula recipes you can use and just give her some of that. Or you can do what we did, my son was dropping weight so we added fruits and veggies to his diet, as well as (regular) oatmeal, and other basic solids.

She does eat 3 meals a day-she hasn't lost weight but is gaining very slow.

Try adding extra calories to what she does eat. Add heavy cream to things such as her potatoes, or oatmeal. We added butter to what we could. You could also look for a high calorie protein powder to add to things like smoothies, or even just whatever you can. Some kids just gain slowly. As long as she's not losing it's not too bad.

Thanks! I just don't want to supplement with formula...I feel like my natural bf should be enough for her-but I question it...seems like it takes a while for my milk to come in sometimes & she loses interest...or she's just too busy playing to stop and nurse.
Never thought I'd have a baby who didn't looooove nursing-I grew up in a pro pro pro bf household with lots of nursing! I mean she likes to nurse but she is a busy baby.

My son was not interested at all for the first 5 weeks. We fought and fought. And he still didn't really want to very often until I stopped pushing it. He'll be a year on the 9th and still nurses 2-6+ times a day. Breastfeeding has been far from easy for us. Also if she eats just purees try feeding her regular foods that she'll have, bananas, bread. My son has been eating everything we eat since about 7 months.
