You're not a bad mum at all!

True story: once I was so exhausted from being up at night (looking for freelance work, insomnia), that I decided to take a nap when my daughter was napping, only I was too exhausted to move from the living room, to the bedroom (we were sharing at the time, and that's where she was sleeping).

I fell asleep on the couch. Kid must have woken up.. and tried to climb out of her crib. I didn't hear her crying or babbling.. I heard a thump, and then a cry.

Now -that- made me feel like real crap.

Can your husband grab her when he hears her babble? You sound like you need some rest

ikr! when i give her breakfast in the morning i put her in her excersaucer so she can play while she eats her cereal. i've fallen asleep to wake up like half an hr later like "holy crap! i feel asleep!" and bolt up. she looks at me like "what's your problem?" then goes back to watching cartoons. lol

10-2 pm?
That is a lot of sleep if she's going past 10am. She's 9 months, right? At that age, I believe they need 12 hours at night and 1-2 naps during the day.

Having him get up and change her when he hears her is what seems to make the most sense to me. But really, don't feel bad for not hearing her.

lol you're just tired.. this happens to me too.. but at least she's safe and happy with her food haha.. I read this thing where a study showed that women do need more sleep then men.. use that to your advantage hahaha

Awwww. :(

One time, I put Violet down for a nap and Hanley was asleep in the bouncer. I PASSED out. Woke up a little later and both kids were nowhere to be found. My FIL had come downstairs and taken the kids because he heard them crying. He said he tried waking me up, shaking me, yelling at me...and couldn't.

she's 10 months. i'm sure she wakes up more than i realize so probably isn't sleeping that amount. she gets up and babbles periodically. she has also done this thing in the last month where she sorta wakes up but not fully awake and makes noise... i'm not sure why

Don't feel bad, I used to do it sometimes... sometimes a little more than sometimes, to the point where SO had to wake me up to go get him (on days when he's leaving for work as Mj gets up), there were a few times my kid was just chillin' in his crib while I was sleeping. He still does it sometimes if I'm sleeping now that he's older, he'll chill all quiet in his room. Now that he's a toddler it freaks me out when he comes to me in the morning (which he always does!) then leaves my bed, so that's my get out of bed, we're eating cue LOL

yep, she'll bitch when she runs out of food and it's like my brain has switched over, she gets loud "bitching" and i actually wake up (9/10) times.

Gah. I would have died. Hell - my kid is 5, but it's been a rough few days for us. She exhibits a lot of patterns and such associated with OCD.. well, daddy is away on a business trip, and our routines have been turned upside down, so she's been an emotional wreck, basically.

Well.. I've been letting her sleep in our bed while he's gone (I just don't care anymore, she's hurting, not being capricious, so I want her to know I'm near if she needs me).

Anyway, she is not exactly a calm sleeper - she kicks around, turns and tosses.. and has developed a cough since yesterday. I'm running on very little sleep.. to a point of where I seriously forgot where I parked my freaking car. Nika had to remind me.. meh. I seriously thought it got stolen.

Oh god. haha. My kids are 14 months apart and this was when Hanley was a couple weeks old. He had reflux and never slept at night. I was exhausted.

It was fucking scary though. And I felt awful. The bouncer was right next to me on the floor. I don't know how I didn't hear him.

Oh man, I feel for you. I used to be a single mum, so I completely understand what it's like to get up, and be up... and then just shut off into sleep, meh. I always used to think that just 5 more minutes, and I'd wake up and feel totally rested.. I just never got that 5 minutes

Aw man, I'm sorry! I hate sharing the bed with my kids. I never sleep well!

It should be illegal, the amount of sleep a mother doesn't get. haha.
