It can be. You may think your 39weeks then it turns out that you was really only 37 weeks. A due date is an ESTIMATE. It can be off by 2 weeks. That's why you should just let baby come when baby is ready. Not just because your "due date "says time is up.

Better yet you should just opt for an induction now.

Quoting Rachelbabyxx:" she might just engage at last minute :) but if not can you still have the sweep if she's not fully engaged? x"

I'm sure you could but i personally wouldn't. My oldest was born at 42 weeks 1 day and was 7lbs 14 oz if she had been born at 40 weeks she might have been much smaller and had issues . Im a firm believer in waiting it out till at least 42 weeks because you just never know . Membrane sweeps are the first step and most likely if your baby isn't ready it wont work anyway . A close friend of mine had three before anything happened with her. I know its hard and these last few weeks suck I have been there but hang in there you'll get there soon enough .

Weight can be off by 2lbs. They said my first son was a whopping 10lbs, ha he was only 7lbs. Don't trust ultrasounds with the weight.

It's true ultrasounds a natourious for being off in late pregnancy , not saying yours is but many people have been tolled there babies were going to be big based on the ultrasounds and when the baby was born they weighed much less. We all understand that you want your little girl here there is nothing wrong with wanting to see your little one trust me I know I have been there TWICE its not fun however were not going to tell you something is a good idea when we believe its not . Now a membrane sweep is minor intervention compared to other methods so to me its not that big of a deal if you want to get that done but there's no way I would say anything beyond that would be a good idea till you hit closer to 42 weeks. I drove myself nuts with my first . When I hit 40 weeks and nothing was happening I thought I was going to lose my mind , then when I went into labor at 41 weeks and it stalled I was about to hurt someone but in the end things worked out just right. Now I tell myself my real due date is two weeks after the edd I'm giving just so I can avoid going crazy and let me tell you it makes all the difference. I hope you daughter decides to come soon waiting sucks .
