Hey all so my DD will be 6 next Wednesday and I have to work so I planned a girls day out for us for today. I had it set up we would go get our nails painted, get our hair cut and styled, go eat lunch, and a mini shopping spree. So we go to the first place the nail salon while waiting to go back she starts screaming bloody murder that her stomach hurts. So of course I scoop her up and run to the bathroom because I think she is about to be sick or even something worse. Get in the bathroom and she's say oh I am ok! What the hell you just screamed bloody murder like someone was beating you. The great part in all of this over embarrassing fun is my boss is sitting right next to us when all this happens. I could have cared less about all the other people in there more than likely I would never see them again. But my boss holy hell that was embarrassing. So we get to the car and I ask her baby why didn't you just say mommy my stomach hurt instead of screaming? She says I don't know mind you she is acting perfectly fine now. That ended our day told her we may try it again next weekend. She has never acted out in public for no reason. She has been running and playing non-stop since we got home so her belly is just fine. Maybe the smell of the nail salon bothered her but it never has before. Either way embarresed to see my boss Monday. Pretty sure she thinks I am one of those parents that have no control what so ever over their children.

Anyone else go out of their way to plan a fun day for you and your LO and it turned into an epic fail?

That really doesn't sound bad. Maybe she was scared to get her nails done?

You shouldn't be embarrassed. I don't even think that's a little bit embarrassing lol.
And if it was just a moment of acting out I wouldn't have ended the day either. It happenes with kids. DS acts out sometimes but I don't let it stop the fun unless he continues it.

That isn't something to be embarrassed about imo. Maybe she got a sudden stomach cramp or something.

We go at least once a month. All they do is paint them never been an issue before. I guess I have such an issue with it because neither if my children have never pitched a fit while out.

I think it's absolutely silly that you ended your girls day over that.... and there's no reason for you to be embarrassed, IMO. Sometimes, my son's belly hurts him if he has gas or feels constipated. She could have just been in pain, or yeah, the smell may have bothered her. I don't know why you're so mortified over it...

Was gunna keep going on with the day but at that point I think we were just both over it. There's always next weekend.

My son did the same thing to me once and I even took him to the doctor afterwards because he was crying so bad.

I think it was for attention because after he saw the doctor he was fine and didn't hurt at all and just played.

May have been. She's not usually like that. She is going to be six and had never had a melt down like that. We came home at lunch and played.

I am glad you think it's silly. I know it sounds dumb but she has never acted out she normally will talk to us in a normal manner. Guess that's why it's embarrassing. We all have a different moods maybe today just wasn't a good day for her.
