Why dont you buy the ingridents and give them to him and say all this goes in there together lol

or sit down together and plan and discuss what you want to have that week or night etc.....And say lets cook together here you peel potatoes and I will cut some veggies, cook together for a while then send him alone with a little bit of a better I dea on what to do with cooking.

Lol , my friend was like this. she complained her hubby couldnt cook etc.....and I went there for dinner with my kids and she cooked and it was horrible I felt bad for making my kids eat it. lol

They had us over the next day and he cooked it wasnt amazing but it was better then her's and she complained and bitched at him the whole time saying it was nasty and gross and kept saying she was sorry and she could make me and my kids something else, but I didnt want to eat hers. lol

OP---have you thought of just recommending recipes?



Also---I'm an EXCELLENT cook and win competitions regularly.
I rarely cook anything before it goes in the crock pot---if I do it's just a quick sear.
Sounds like he is doing it RIGHT.



And veggies, seasoning, and raw meat is EXACTLY what I put in my crock pot yesterday!

I can't imagine why you would think meat needs tone cooked before the crockpot... I just can't get passed that.

That's what I'm thinking too lol I've never cooked meat before putting it in my crock pot except searing the outside of chicken for BBQ...lol

you`re not suppose to cook the meat before putting it into the crock-pot. Maybe give it a quick sear but that`s it. Your SO had it right. And instead of complaining that he can`t cook, MAYBE encourage him! My SO isn`t greatest cook and he knows this but he tries he hardest and he is proud of what he does. And I always thank him for making dinner.

I always put raw meat, veggies, and seasonings in the crock pot and don't cook the meat first...sounds like his food wouldn't actually taste that bad OP. :? It would probably taste good.

When I make taco meat in the crockpot I use raw ground beef..or ground Turkey
