You have to get in there with your fingers and soap and water or he could get an infection. And you need to look and see if it is red and if needed put some desitin.

Babies burp on their own after 6 months, if they are spitting up or fussy they may need a little help.

baby's have to be in an upright position to belch with or without help. until they are able to balance/support themselves, they will need help belching. The neck needs thoroughly cleaning. Lie baby flat on back turn head each direction and wipe gently lift head and pull down on skin of the neck to ensure you get between creases. a q-tip might help. i prefer a soapy towel.

make sure you dry it well after cleaning. babies tend to sweat a lot under the neck...try powder

My DD used to get milk rashes on her neck where she would dribble into the fat roll and I wouldn't see it, and it would just sit. It would smell funky too. You have to lay him down and get his head to one side and really get a good look and clean it good. I used to put powder on my DDs and it would clear up within a day. I also started tucking a washcloth around her neck when she ate and it stopped pretty shortly after that.

My LO never let me get under his rolls. So instead, when he was doing his tummy time I had a wet wipe and some diaper cream ready, to clean it down and put some cream there as a barrier to prevent rashes.
