Anyone who has done it, how was your experience? How did you go about finding the best place? I've been doing my research on local offices.

Any lastly if you don't mind me asking, how much did your procedure cost?

I've wanted it done forever but have always been told I wasn't a good candidate because of my astigmatism. Just had cataract surgery last week and it seems I may be achieving it anyway!

When was the last time they checked you to see if you were a good candidate?

I had a bad astigmatism & large pupils and had LASIK in June of 2009. There aren't as many restrictions on it as there used to be.

I had it done in June of 09. I did it at the same place my DH had done it a few years before. My procedure cost $4500.

The last time I asked was 2011. I always ask when I go for check ups lol. It's kind of a moot point for me now.

Are you asking your optometrist or actually going to an opthamologist who does lasik?

It was just an optometrist.

Try going to an actual lasik place and see what they say. My optometrist told me the same stuff...especially about my large pupils. Most places give a free consultation. They will let you know if you are able to do it.

Haha that's always good. My aunt got lasik and the guy who did it killed himself a few years back. I dont really know anyone else locally that has had it done for a recommendation. I've been looking online at reviews but I'm nervous as to who to trust.

I had it done 5.5 years ago
Went great, I was like -4,-3 nearsighted astigmatism
I messed it up a bit by driving at night back to school which was a four hour drive three days after surgery BUT
I would most definitely recommend it. It was life changing for me
I honestly don't remember I would guess it was about 3 grand
And I went to LASIK Plus

Wish you had told me this a couple of years ago, lol. Hopefully after I have my other eye done (cataract) I won't need glasses/contacts anymore. Not as good as lasik but if I can get my brain to adjust to monovision I'll be happy with it.

I want it done so bad. I'm so over contacts and glasses. I figure summer break from college would be the perfect time to do it

It was really just a weekend procedure.. I had it done on a Thursday, had to do eye drops for I believe two days. Super easy, just don't drive fore extended periods and especially at night lol
I hear you, I started wearing contacts in fifth grade .. as soon as I got the approval from ky eye doctor that my script hadn't changed I never went back
