How sad. Not much you can say. Offer your condolences and let them know you are there if they need anything. Maybe offer to bring dinner over one night.

:( how sad. Theres really nothing you can say to help... No amount of words will make a grieving mother or father feel better.

How terrible? I know someone who just lost their 18 month old the SAME way. Terrifies me!!

I usually don't say much. I've had a few friends have stillborns and.....I don't say anything. There is nothing I can say that will make them feel better. When my sister passed, it actually kind of bothered me when people would tell me they were sorry. During that time I was very irrational about some things.......I can only imagine how irrational I would be if I lost my son.

Just offer your condolences and let them know you're there for them. I'd ask if they need anything too. That's so sad. They're in my prayers

I usually just offer my sympathies and have them let me know if they need anything-I don't like to bother people too much during times like those. I will usually send a gift card for take out, etc.

Makes sense. Maybe a gift card for food then. Congrats on your baby.

Neither did I but unfortunately it can.. children have died of SIDS at 3 yrs of age, just called something else (can't think of it atm). So unbelievably sad :( Will keep them in my thoughts.. I cannot imagine the pain (nor do I want to).
