Wow. I wish I could say something similar. I was 151 at my last appointment, but I'm quite a bit taller, and 123 is my normal non-pregnant weight.

I'm short and basically look like a prepubescent boy.

Pregnancy is awesome: actually having b**bs.

I'm 5'5", and let's just say I'm in the average range for weight LOL.

I aam working on it, though. I've lost almost 10 pounds so far.

A good majority of you are from the Northern US, I bet alot of women from the south will decline to comment because there weight is much more than the average.

Nothing to be ashamed of, just it is the lifestyle here, eating out is an activity.

LOL we eat out a lot... like usually 3-4 times a week. We've cut back a lot recently. Lately like once a week.

I grew up in the Southern US, we didn't go out to eat a lot, and we still don't now. I don't think it's the eating out in the South that does it, it's the "Soul Food" or "Comfort Food" (whichever you want to call it). The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cornbread...ham...we just eat differently.

I agree. Southern food is SOOO unhealthy. It's soooo good, though.

It is the amounts also, my MIL (she has lived in south carolina her whole life) had weightloss surgery done and is back to her pre surgery weight. She will cook packages of bacon to fry chicken in, and mix healthy green beans with bacon, I can BARELY eat anything she makes without throwing up.

Yech! I think for me, I never ate the "typical" Southern foods. I don't eat the collard greens, mustard greens, or turnip greens....I don't eat heavily fried foods....but most of my family members do, and I will admit they are on the overweight side, and my sister is doing her pre-op stuff for weight loss surgery right now.

Nope, currently 5'5" at 140.

I weighed 127 before I got pregnant and then was 160 before I gave birth.

The lowest weight I've been was 120 in basic training. I was 145 for the longest time after I had my son. Then, I went down to 125 after my first deployment and slowly gained it all back. I'm currently working to get to 133. Let's hope I don't lose too much weight on my next deployment. *crosses fingers* I like my b**bs and they were barely there at 125. I don't want to be that skinny again.

I've been to a few friends' family get togethers and it sickens me to see morbidly obese people pounding back fried chicken and cornbread.

No one in my family (moms or dads side) is overweight, and we tend to eat healthier. We really only get super Southern when it comes to holidays :P

I get called a "Yankee" all the time, and my Husband gets the abuse for it, because I refuse to eat like crap.

Then again they come to my house and get ice tea that is unsweetned and says it taste like crap, they cant taste any sugar!

Duh if I wanted sugar water I am sure I could make it, I make TEA to TASTE THE DAMN TEA.
