Obviously. I meant...screamed so loud and was inconsolable so the store manager felt like she had to come help you.

That was really sweet of her.

ETA: I wouldn't personally trust anyone I didn't know to hold my son though.

I've never handed them to a stranger to hold though. I just do what I have to do as fast as I can, and get out. When DH was deployed, it happened a lot with my 2 older kids having a meltdown at the same time.

Can't say I've ever been there.

It's happened to me a few times. DD and LO both have thrown giant fits for whatever reason in the store. It bugs me when people stare, especially other parents because I KNOW it's happened to all of them before at one point or another. Babies cry and they don't care where they're at when they feel the need. I wouldn't worry about it.
ETA: I've never handed either of them to a stranger though if that's what you're wondering. I've had plenty of people offer though. I do make faces at, talk to, and play peekaboo with other people's kids who are upset though. Most of the time it shuts them up. Lol.

Has my child cried in the store? yes. She's thrown a full out fit because she wanted a toy but I said no.

Would I let a stranger hold my child? Never.

This. I find is seriously odd.

Must be a southern thing. I don't always assume someone is out to steal my child. Especially not a 50 something manager of Walmart with tons of people around. She offered to hold him while I paid and allowed me to jump to the front of the line. I didn't find anything harmful or potentially dangerous in that scenario.

I tend to be quite paranoid. CJ will do that too you.

Oh man. Nothing was going to shut him up. No binkie, not even me holding him! It kind of made me feel better for her to hold him for a second...because it made people look at her and it allowed me to pay the money and grab my medicine without feeling like I had 100 judgmental eyes on me.

But I know what you mean. A bunch of them were older adults, in their 40's and up. I just thought to myself, "Well shit...Your kids must have been fuckin' angels that never cried when they were upset, hungry, or wet..."

Um.. I'm in Arkansas and I wouldn't just hand my child over to a stranger. No, it is most definitely not a "southern thing"
