Got a quick question about clothing . . . Akeema 18 kids; 1 angel baby; Altus AFB (AFB), Oklahoma 6013 posts

Okay guys I have a issue, this is really embarrassing but my friends want me to go out with them on like a girls day but they want me to dress up in a dress that they gave me. The problem is I have never really worn a dress and well it's a hand me down and I'm a lot taller than the girl who wore it before me. That and I am at a complete loss as to what to wear with it I guess. To boil this down, and to stop my rambling, I am wondering if you could help me by telling me if I am showing too much skin in this dress, they all say no but I've never showed this much even in a bathing suit, and if not which shoes would look best and would the earrings I have work? ( they are my only pair of earnings and the heals are from a funeral that I ended up wearing the flats to.)

Any way here are the pics:

Also, if you could give advice on makeup and maybe something to do with my hair, which falls an inch below my shoulderblades, that would be great. ^_^; I know I'm lame but I wanted to spend more time reading and being outside than on being a girl. So blah :P

It's cute. If you're uncomfortable wear a cardigan

if you are uncomfortable in heels, wear the flats. I wear flats with dresses/skirts a lot. I am way too clumsy. the dress is cute. how is it from the back? do you feel exposed when you bend down?

It's actually more of the legs than the chest, I figured with the chest I could put a cami under it.

Okay, yah I'm clutzy too. I honestly don't even think I could wear the heels XD but I just wanted to see what everyone thought.
Yah it just feels sooo short, I have to bend at the knees and kind of kneel so that I don't flash people if I bend over. The thing is I have never worn a dress so even if it went to my knees it would feel really short. I think the most of a dress I've ever worn is when it went to my ankles and that was in like fourth grade.

I'm 5'7" and I'm pretty much just long everywhere lol. I don't know I feel all awkward. Which is why I wanted to get other people opinions, because I see my self in it and go eeek! XD

Does the belt come off the dress? If it does, throw a long cardigan on, leave it open and wear the belt over the cardigan and dress. Like this: cab0320f5b91b7abf5e0aed877dcb20e.jpg

It'll give you more coverage on top at least and still look really cute. Personally I'd wear the flats. As for your hair and make up, go simple. Part your hair on the side and then curl it away from your face with a curling iron. Make up wise I'd go with a soft natural look or maybe a really soft smokey eye. As for the earrings I'd probably just wear some studs if you have any. The print on that dress is kind of loud imo so I'd keep everything else simple so you don't end up looking overdone.

I like the dress it doesn't look too short I think the earrings will go well and I like the flats best. No matter what you do with your hair and makeup(I'm of no help there) remember to enjoy yourself!

when I wear short dresses, I wear leggings underneath. I get them at walmart.. they don't cost much. if that is an option for you

That is such a cute idea, I will have to buy a cardigan though. I love the idea for the hair if I had any idea how to curl my hair, I bet I can find a tutorial on youtube just like with the makeup. I think I may have some studs, somewhere. I'll see if my grandmother's jewelry box has any. I don't even really remember what's in it. would you put a white or a black cardigan on it? and I agree the print is a bit crazy.

Thanks and I'll try, I just really wish they weren't basically making me wear it. I'm more a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal.

That is a pretty good idea, I'll see what I can find. I live in a small town so our walmart doesn't always have well much.
