Police tasered a pregnant woman for essentially doing nothing. Is that even legal?
It's on YouTube. Corruption in Springfield il is the title. This is crazy! They are supposed to serve and protect not potentially kill an unborn child.

If I was pregnant, I would listen to the police so I didn't get tazed.

She should've complied with the officers.

It looked like she was upset and arguing/getting physical with the police... so she was doing something.

This!

If they tased her for no reason that would be a different issue. She should have done what they asked. Being pregnant doesn't mean you don't have to listen to the police.

The witness who recorded said that she was telling them she couldn't get on the ground because she was pregnant. And that afterwards as she was being tased is when her boyfriend started fighting and got tased. I don't know. It's still ridiculous.

I don't think it's ridiculous. Why can't she get on the ground? She sit, she can lay on her side..she fought with them and refused to get on the ground.

I didn't watch the video, but pregnant people can lay down. I'm just saying, she should have done what they asked. It's sucks that she is pregnant and was tased but she should have listened.

I just watched it. It didn't change my opinion. She was wrong. She should have let them arrest the guy with her. She made a choice to get involved when she shouldn't have. Oh well. :/

I do think the officer was a little taser happy.

BUT, ultimately I agree , it was her fault. She was getting in the way of the officer trying to arrest the guy. And the officer did say "Get on the ground or you're getting tased". She could have at least knelt down or something and attempted to comply.

Being pregnant isn't a free ticket to act belligerent

Also, if she hadn't been trying to get in the way of the arrest they would have never asked her to get on the ground. I never understood women trying to prevent their SO from getting arrested. You getting in the way acting stupid isn't going to save them from the police. Lol.

She is the one that put her baby in danger by trying to get between SO and the cop and then fight the cop and not getting down she could have at least got on her knees.

I just saw the unedited version. The first video I saw was of them doing it because she said she couldn't lay on her stomach she was pregnant. I still think he was pretty trigger happy with that taser tho. She shouldn't put herself in that position tho.
