7wks PP this week. Ready to get a new car so I can schedule my PP checkup but I still have no clue what to do BC wise. We were on the fence about having another child but I think DH is done, however I don't think we are quite ready to do anything permanent yet. There's no way I will be able to take the mini pill effectively and hormonal BC messes me up so that leaves paraguard. I just don't want to bleed like a stuck pig :(

Sounds like an IUD will be suitable for you, it can last up to 5 yrs, and you get it done right in the office. If you change your mind about having another, remove it. You can always have another added after 5 yrs if you still don't want children.

If she cant do hormones then mirena is NOT the right choice for her, and she said she didnt want the heavy bleeding from paraguard.

I was on mirena because I can't do hormones either, and my bleeding let up. So I am confused on your response.

Mirena is a hormonal IUD. Most people bleed more on paraguard because it is copper

Yea I've had mirena before and it gave me cysts and caused all sorts of mess.

It is a low dose hormone IUD, of course it works differently for every one. My sister had it too, ending up having to remove it because it caused cysts as well. I have never used Paraguard, though a friend of mine does, and feels she bleeds more than before being put on BC.

I'm in the exact same situation as you. Hubby and I decided we would be done after this baby was born (last week) and have a vasectomy consult scheduled for the end of this month. However, after Evalia was born I realized I want one or two more lol. I can't do hormones either so I'm leaning towards an IUD but I don't want heavy bleeding with Paraguard and I'm nervous about Mirena because I know so many people that have had issues with it. Ugh I wish there were more options!! :(

I know right? You'd figure there would be more hormone free options.

I would just use condoms if you are ebfing personally.

We actually don't even use condoms heh. I just got my period tho at 16 months pp so I may start using them.

We used "standard days" which is an off shoot of natural family planning. You have to be super vigilant and track your ovulation, dont just blindly follow an online app.

We have been but I hate them and I can just see DH having a few margaritas and then not using it.
