Awwhh I'm imagining that his grandpa wanted to see him get "married" before he died? I could be totally wrong.

I think that's cute. It's always interesting reading stuff like this that happens in different cultures.

I like the kid's face in the picture of them holding hands. Like a boss.

What if it was a 61-year-old man with an 8-year-old girl? Same story. Still sweet?

If it was this EXACT same article... like down to the "When I grow up, I'll marry someone my own age" and the marriage not being legally binding/etc... like just a "pretend" wedding to please a dying relative... yeah, still sweet.

Agreed. it's not like they are living together or anything like that.

I think its cute because its not meant to be a "real" marriage. That it was more something they did to make his grandpa happy. I think it would be fine if the sexes were reversed also. Its not a legal marriage. They aren't living together, they aren't having sex, they really don't seem to be doing anything a "normal" husband and wife do. He said he would marry another girl his age when he was older, and she is already married. It was something to make the grandfather happy.

The kiss on the lips was kinda weird and if it had been a man and little girl it would freak me out but its a cute thought. Ive seen a lot of boys that age ask to "marry" older girls. Its cute.

:!: If it was real and they were having sex, super creepy and weird but ir's just an elaborate pretend play.
