I want to take my son to Mexico some time in May (It's my dads retirement party) His dad (douchebag) and I are not together. Do I need him to sign a letter saying it's okay to take my son out of the country for 5 days? Does anyone know the laws for this?

I texted douchebag and he has not responded and I was hoping to buy tickets tonight before they go up.

Pretty sure you only have to give the other parent 15 days notice, and that's only if there is a custody agreement or they're on the birth certoficate

So he doesn't need to sign a letter saying I'm taking out son out of the country?

I don't think so, just give him 15 days notice written, and I would call your local courthouse to ask them to make sure
