Just read her story.. I was on a rollercoaster of emotions just reading it so I can't imagine how you feel. She is beautiful! Truly a little blessing! I hope she is doing okay.

Quoting I Stab People:" that is such a sad story! my son had a stroke at birth too, for a different reason, but he is 16 months ... [snip!] ... like he made enough progress, tho his left hand still is noticibly weaker. if you have any questions feel free to ask ;)"

oh wow. I just read your little blurb on your profile about him. can't believe he had a stroke on top of all of that! Isla has very limited use of her right hand, but it's been much better since we started doing stretches with her every day. She's getting a hand brace soon so help keep her hand open so hopefully she can start crawling :)

awe yeah I love it! my 4 year old is blonde with blue eyes, so it's a nice change! Isla's eyes are in transition right now so they're like a grey-green-brown. it's SO pretty I wish it would stay

we've been told by a lot of people that we should do that, but after going through this I was just so happy and thankful to have her here that I didn't want to bring any more negativity into our lives. so I let it be. I just hope that it wont happen anymore

his was really bad at her age too, he couldnt do anything with it really. he couldnt even bat at a toy, it was like when your hands asleep and you try to do something with it? kind of like that. he would just flail with it aimlesly. its MUCH better now, he can transfer items, he just doesnt have the pinscer grasp down in it. he was a little slow with his left leg too, but not as bad as the hand. he did walk right on track (at 11 months), but he has a LITTLE bit of a drag to the left leg.

yes he was behind on crawling and sitting. he didnt sit till about 7.5 months, and crawled at about 9.5 months-ish. started pulling up before he crawled, and then walked GOOD at 11 months, but started at about 10.5 months

what a little trooper!

Isla can sit up pretty well but she still tips over to her affected side, so we can't be too far from her or she bonks her head.
you can tell she get's frustrated when she's on her belly and she pushes up and wants to move but I dont know how long until she can figure out a way to move herself with the bad arm. really hoping the hand brace helps her take weight on it

thank you! it was sad to write, too. It had been so long that I forgot about some of the details and when they came back to me I got pretty emotional.
