Hey ladies! Just started ttc again in march after miscarrying twins last year and this time I want to make sure my body is good and ready for a pregnancy. Got an ok from doc... But i was just wondering should I be taking multivitamins or prenatal vitamins?Doc said multivitamins are okay for now but family and friends are saying I should be taking prenatals? I'm confused. Please help! And any other advice or tips on ttc is much appreciated!

If you are actively TTC, then I would go ahead and start the prenatals. They give you more of the folate you need than the regular multivitamin does. I take prenatals even when I'm not pregnant because I feel better on them than on regular multis.

My ob said to take prenatals for a year after having my baby and continue to if I was going to start ttc again.

Thanks maybe I'll go pick up a bottle. Any brand prenatals are good?

I've always read and been told to take a prenatal vitamin while TTC, specifically for the folic acid.

For me, I got the Spring Valley from Wal-Mart, and those are great. They were better for me than the ones my doc prescribed.

She probably meant that they okay as in they won't harm you to take now. They aren't going to hinder your TTC journey at all, and will give you vitamins and minerals that your body needs.
Prenatals are just better for you while TTC, pregnant, and breastfeeding :)

My doctor also told me to start taking prenatal vitamins once I had my bc taken out that way you know your body is getting everything it needs and you're already in the habit of taking it!
