I rub my oldest daughters back sometimes when she is having a hard time sleeping.

My daughter is 3.5 and when her dad is home he still rocks her to sleep.... he works long hours and doesn't get to see her as much as he would like and so he takes every opportunity to give her a little extra attention. When it's just me, I still rub her back and sing to her until she falls asleep. My dad did that for me until I was like a teenager so I don't see a problem with it.

My son is only five months and he just cries if I try to rock him to sleep. I have to lay him down on his belly and give him his paci and he is out like a light. :( too independent already!

When I moved him to a big boy bed soooo 2.5? Now we lay in bed and read a book, the sing songs, then I leave.

My youngest is 17 months, and I rock him while we read a book.
