I'm just wondering who has taken vitex for cycle balance and/or help with ttc. I ordered some online today. I have PCOS and these symptoms just started poking their heads out after my miscarriage. My cycles are wacky now. I got months where I don't ovulate. So hoping the vitex helps. Just want to see if any others have taken it and gotten some good results. Good or bad please let me know.

I had amazing results from Vitex. I tell everyone with wonky cycles to try it... it seems like it wouldn't work (it's just a crushed up flower, right?) but that shit works wonders.

I had like over 100 day cycles at one point and I don't think I was ovulating at all... I started taking it, and the cycle I started taking it I went to 52 instead of 100+. From then on, it kept steadily decreasing in number until I got to 28. And I started OVULATING (obviously, since I got pregnant :P)

Wow!! My cycles aren't as wacky. I think the longest I've gone is like 37 days but my normal cycles are 29 so it's wacky for me. Since the miscarriage this has happened. I got months where I don't get a positive opk at all. Like last cycle. It was screwy. I hope i get results like you did. Even if I don't get the BFP just normal cycles and ovulation will do just fine for me for a bit. I want a BFP by the end of the year. I'm seeing a fertility specialist right now. We're at the beginning with it. Doing tests on hubby hormone tests on me. How long did you have to take it before you got pregnant?

it is what got me pregnant. after ttc for 3 years. i started it last june and i conceived oct 4th. off of my sept 19th cycle. so it didnt take long at all. and that was after 6 months of clomid not working. i think everyone should take vitex. its like a multivitamin for your reproductive system. :-) oh and i never had periods or ovulated and then after starting it my cycles started right up normally.

Thank you. That gives me a bit more hope too. I'm hoping it helps things out and maybe possibly help me with some weight loss. I was feeling my ovary earlier thinking maybe ovulation but nothing. I actually got a very dark line on two opks a few days ago but ran out so I couldn't confirm ovulation which sucked. I didn't have any ovary pains then but that's not always an indicaton I didn't ovulate either. So I don't know. If I ovulated I would be seeing AF in about 11 days. My vitex should be in by Friday if not then it should be here at least by next wednesday. When should I start taking it? Could I take it when I first get it or should I wait for AF?

I actually stopped taking it before we started TTC. I was only taking it to get my cycles back on track. I have heard great things about Vitex & fertility though.

But without it, I doubt I would've ever gotten pregnant since my cycles were all whacktastic.

I never took it during AF. I always heard you weren't supposed to (couldn't tell you why though..). I would wait and take it after your next AF ends if you don't conceive this cycle :)

That's really my goal right now. I just want my cycles back on track. So your cycles stayed on track after getting off of it or did you become pregnant not long after getting off of it? If I get a BFP with it I'll be happy but for the most part I'm just wanting a normal cycle again like before. Even when I did ovulate I'd start my period like 10 days after I'd ovulate which means my luteal phase shortened. That's not good when your ttc either. So I need something to get me on track.

Yep, they've stayed on track since I got off of it. I think I stopped about a year or so ago. Got pregnant back in Feb.

I really don't think I'l conceive this cycle since I'm 99% sure I did not ovulate. It's so weird though because I'm getting negative opks but I'm feeling my right ovary and it's a lot of pressure around there. It started today. I don't know if it's a bad batch of opks or what and it's not picking up but I'm feeling my ovary. Maybe I should listen to my body instead of the opk. We didn't bd last night so it's like every 2 nights right now. I'm guessing we will bd tonight if he can get off his xbox before i go to bed lol. But I'll wait and see when it comes in. It'll probably come in next week. If it does I'll start taking it then I'll stop taking it during AF and start again once she's gone. Or do you think it's best if I wait to start taking it after all my hormone tests are done. I mean my cycles are wacky no doubt about that. So my hormones shouldn't be normal when I go.

Ok. Well that's good that they've stayed on track. I just wish i knew if I was ovulating or not. I didn't even get a second line on the opks I took today. But my right ovary is feeling like it normally does right before i ovulate. I will monitor it and see what I feel tomorrow and the next day. I can usually tell when I ovulate the moment the egg releases. I sometimes feel a lil pop in that area and almost immediate release in pressure in my ovary.

Well, taking it this cycle won't help any if you've already ovulated. I don't believe it will actually bring on a period, it just brings on ovulation. I mean, since you don't really know for sure if you've ovulated, you could start this cycle. I wouldn't think it would mess with your hormone tests. I'd ask your specialist, though.

I am thinking about starting it this week. Even though we have only been trying for about four months since my MC my cycles have gone crazy. On top of that I don't think I am Oing now and I am having random bleeding throughout the month.

I have heard amazing things so I am hoping it will work for us too :)

no you are suppose to take 2 pills everyday for 3 months straight. dont miss any. and i tried to take them around the same time each day. then after 3 months only take 1 pill. after 3 months your body 'should' be regulated. i started the 1st of june and started my first period on august 10th. i ovulated sept 3rd. had a 30 day cycle then started again on sept 19th. then ovulated on oct 4th and tested positive on oct 14th. 4 days after my bday. :) but make sure to take it during your period. i did and i think it helped. i loved it because it gave me no side effects while the clomid gave me every side effect in the book. just dont take it while on clomid. and make sure to stop taking it as soon as you get a BFP. and im pretty sure you cant take it while breast feeding. as soon as im done breast feeding im gonna start it up again so it doesnt take 3 years to conceive our next. if you ever have any questions about it just let me know. i swear by vitex. i have a few of my friends irl using it right now also. so im excited to see their turn outs. they are getting close to the 3 month mark. :-) keep me posted how it goes. excited for you.

Thank you. I don't think I will be taking clomid at all. I have heard some stuff about it. That's why I bought the vitex. So you take both pills at the same time? I think I saw something about taking them on an empty stomach it helps them work better. I hope it comes in by Tuesday. I know I didn't ovulate this cycle so I'm just gonna start taking it when I get it. Right now I just want my cycles back on track and my bfp
