My son has been attending preschool since January. He recently started attending full time which means after the 3 hour session it becomes a day care. He's there from 8-5. My concern is that he does not listen. He does not want to be told what to do. He doesn't want to wash his hands for breakfast, throws fits. The teacher has already called it to my attention two times. She says to work with him and remind him that he goes to school to learn blah blah. Take in mind hes only 3 years old. I am afraid they might not want him due to his behavior. Please tell me it will get better, ideas? How can i get trough him. TIA
He's 3 its going to take many reminders of what to do. The teacher needs to realize that. You can work with him at home. Keep him on their schedule as much as possible. Have him was his hands everytime they do. The routine is what he still needs time to get used to
It's not uncommon for some behavioral issues to happen at school, try to keep communication between you and the teachers open ended. Tell them what you do at home and listen to their suggestions. If communication is good than you will both be more likely to find a solution for his current behavior. My oldest used to throw on the floor kicking and screaming tantrums in kindergarten and it was very stressful, but with good communication between myself and his teacher we were able to make it more manageable.
