I didn't start using cloth part time until my son was over a year old...so we didn't use that many in a day. I'm going to do the same with the newb...but I'm not sure how many diapers I need exactly. I have a bunch of prefolds, but I'm not a huge fan so I doubt ill be reaching for them often. I prefer pockets, and right now I have 8 adjustable ones. If I wanted to wash 1-2 times a week, how many more would I need to add? Ill be using disposable when we go out of the house and at night more than likely...so factor that in if you can.
I have 20 newborn but i plan on washing everyday though...i have a one year old and we just started cloth diapering him but i have 40 os diapers so i will have enough once my newborn gets out of the newborn ones
I didn't start CD-ing til a few days ago with my 4 month old but for the first month of his life he went through 11 disposables a day because I changed him everytime he seemed even slightly wet. A lot of ladies told me I should get 30 if I wanted to wash every few days. He was using so many disposables I just kept him in them til he could fit in a one size pocket or cover. He was super skinny & I didn't want to have to buy smaller dipes that would be useless after a month or 2
Edit: now that he's 4 months he uses 6 diapers a day, 7 if he poops. I have 3 fleece covers, 2 PUL Bububibi covers, 18 prefolds, an AI2, & 6 pockets so all together I have 24 so I can wash every 3-4 days. We still use disposables at nighttime until I get my charcoal bamboo inserts
