Quoting ♫♥♬:" I am going to find the stats, I did this before! I think it said like 138 women out of like THOUSANDS of men have been executed."

Only 30% of people who are put on death penalty actually get executed. I never even thought about women vs. men, though.

But aside from a case that is pretty much airtight (yaknow, caught him at the scene and all, not after weeks or months of investigation)... what does one consider absolute certainty?

In the past 100 years, over 40 women have been executed in the U.S, including 12 since 1976. See, Women Executed in the U.S. Since 1900 for the date, state, race, and method of each execution.

I looked it up when the jodi case started...I feel like if Caseys case was not a DP case, she may have been convicted...I think more people have sympathy for women.

Quoting ⚓ Sarah ⚓:" Video footage that couldnt have been tampered with, dna that couldnt have been planted"

Oh, man... there was this crazy case I watched a video about...

This guy was convicted for a series of bank robberies, despite the video evidence that showed that the man that robbed the bank was not only left handed (while the accused was right handed), but also that he had tattoos on his hands/wrists that the man that was convicted did not have.

Let me see if I can find it... just some interesting shit that I always think about when we're talking about "without a doubt" and whatnot.

Quoting ⚓ Sarah ⚓:" OH MY GOD! Our justice system is so flawed its like sometimes they just want someone to do time or give a false sense of justice to those who were wronged whether its the actual guilty party or not."

Absolutely.

Took some awesome classes that focused a lot on that. Fascinating (and sometimes horrifying) shit.

OH. Again, not that this is the death penalty... but police coercion?

Michael Crowe?

Ever watched his interrogation video? Police threatening a 14 year old boy with the death penalty if he didn't confess to killing his sister? Completely innocent kid?

Personally I believe in equality. You did the crime you get the punishment, regardless of your gender. Altho Canada does not have the death penalty. I also feel that the death penalty is a huge joke. You are sentenced to death and yet you end up spending years and years and years on death row which put a drain on the government and tax payers. If there is evidence that proves without a doubt that you did said crime and the sentence is death...then get to it!
