TTC after a ruptured ectopic pregnancy question Mama Ang loves her girls TTC since Jan 2011; 51 kids; Reno, Nevada 2830 posts

This may be a stupid question and I always forget to ask my ob/gyn when I see him but I was wondering if after a ruptured ectopic pregnancy (where you have had one tube removed) will your body still release an egg on that side even though there is no tube for it to travel down? The reason I am asking is because I always wonder if maybe my body is saying Im O'ing but I am only actually O'ing every other month. I hope that made sense.

You still ovulate but your body absorbs the egg.

My right tube was removed after rupturing because of an ectopic. The month that I ovulate from that side its more painful than my period cramping. My flow is longer and heavier too.

Would you still the LH surge? Mine was also the right tube. I have strong O pains and bad periods so I can never tell which side I am O'ing on. I just baby dance when I start getting positive OPK's. Did you have anymore LO's after having your ectopic? And if so how long did it take you to get pregnant?

I just tracked with an ovulation predictor app I never did OPK so I'm not sure about all of that, sorry.

I did successfully get pregnant in July '11 but we miscarried, we didnt know I was pregnant until the miscarriage. But I was able to conceive again in Sept '11 and I have a 10 month old now. It was a lot of off and on trying for about 3 years, just disappointments or my husbands deploying would cause the breaks. Oddly we conceived both times when we werent trying but werent preventing.

I'm a little different because I lost my right ovary and tube, but I wanted to let you know that ttc only took us 3 months with one ovary/tube :)

Ironically I get bad ovulation pains on the right side still from time to time. I think they are phantom nerve pains or something.

Sorry for your loss. We have had nothing but problems since I have my 2nd MC in Jan of 2011. I swear this has been a serious uphill battle for us.

My anniversary of the ectopic is coming up to 4/16. And I still struggle with it because I knew I was pregnant but then I wasnt. Nothing was showing up on tests either. the next option if I was still late at my next doc appointment was a u/s but I didnt make it.

Some friends and family say I can count my ectopic as a loss or be emotionally hurt by it because I wasn't far enough along for it to count!!!! I swear it doesn't mean that it still doesn't affect me!!!

I know, my mother in law came out to help me until my husband could come home and she would tell me, dont worry it wasnt a real baby.

Wow she sounds like a peach. I just try to look at it like sometimes people dont understand because they've never been through it.

The pain is horrible. How long ago did your ectopic happen?
