Would you do it?

Have you done it? What were your experiences?
I want to become a surrogate SO badly. Especially after realizing how much my daughter has changed my life, I want to give that gift to another family, I would not, could not, use my own eggs, so the child would not be mine in anyway. I would love to carry a child for either a gay couple or just a couple who can't have children of there own.

Thoughts?

I would do it for a close friend/family, but I dont think I could do it for strangers.

I would like to give a family something that special, I wouldn't be approved though.

i couldn't do it b/c of health reasons. i have horrible pregnancies. but i would have been willing to do it had it not been for that reason.

I would love to do it but I wouldn't get approved either probably... too many \miscarriages I have had.

The way I see it is
I have had a completely uncomplicated pregnancy, and child birth
I don't use drugs or drink - I have the occasional cigarette but I can easily and will quit that.
I'm a generally healthy person
I was so blessed to have my daughter and know how heartwrenching it can be to want a child so badly and be denied that.
I worry that if I do do it and end up with multiples, if the intended parents don't want multiples would I have to terminate one?!
I am slowly convincing my husband of doing this he is hesitant and won't say exactly why just "Idk how I feel about it"

I hemorrhaged due to retained placenta that had began to calcify and imbed in my uterus five weeks after DD was born. I am currently being tested to see if I have intrauterine scaring due to it. And either way I am at increased risk for hemorrhage, retained placenta, uterine rupture, IUGR and a whole slew of other things with future pregnancies.

If after Im done having children all my pregnancies are as easy as this one I would definitely do it but I have a feeling that since I got off so easy with this one my next pregnancy will be a nightmare and make me never want to be pregnant again.

Also how do I go about informing unsupportive family members of my decision?
I'm going to wait till it's for sure before then

I would love to, but I can't. Too many miscarriages and high risk pregnancy. :( But that was always a dream of mine before I ever had a miscarriage. :(

That would be included in your contract. If it's something you're not comfortable doing, you wouldn't surrogate for a couple who wanted that.
