"Ever wondered why babies tend to get still and quiet when they see a mobile?

That's because the mobile resembles birds of prey overhead that could potentially carry them off. It's an evolutionary precedent so that that the baby stays still so the bird won't notice it."

My kid never got still when I used a mobile... not sure if it's true or not though.

Some of them get still because it distracts them from moving, basically takes their attention off of the want to move. Others, it just doesn't affect. At least that's what I think lol... I've never heard of that, though. O.o

I could see it.. a lot of their behaviour is instinctual so it would make sense... never heard that before though.
