Ohio counts the woman and the mans income as well. I make WAY more than my sons sperm donor.

I don't think the spouses income should matter. If that were the case my husband would be paying way more to his ex wife because I make a lot more than him. I am not paying his child support.

It does sound fair. He makes lower 40's a year.
Say 42a year.
I make 19a year.

You make good money (:

& giving him every weekend and Wednesday are really good. SO had to fight for two years to get rights.

I've never liked at it that way.
But I understand your point.
Makes a lot of sense.

I don't really think about all aspects until someone points them out.
Child support probably will never be something I understand though.

The fact that this guy pays 10, this one posts 50, & the next one pays 500?

It doesn't seem right. In Iowa child support can only be reviewed every there years.. So that price us locked in.

Us that how Ohio is? Do you guys have a child support collection agency? It is it done through private lawyers?

Its not that. I personally think its a joke because my two children have deadbeats anyways. I'd rather parent alone than have them know their biological fathers anyways. Its not worth the extra 200a month I might get for my son to know his Dad is just a low life. No thanks. For other people it might work. Just not for me.
I think it also depends on you're situation before the baby was conceived. We were never married, we didn't plan the baby, we were together less than six mOnths.
So no, I'll take the rap on those two.

Its really case by case basis.

I don't like the idea of it. I think my boyfriend OS getting screwed. But that's just my opinion. I'm not trying to argue.

Yes it's the same in Ohio. It can only be recalculated every 3 years. Most people tend to hire private lawyers, but you dont HAVE to. It is "free" to go have child support ordered. You don't have to go to court unless either party disputes it. But there is a mandatory child support calculator that all counties use. The idea is that both parents should be contributing the same portion of their income. So for instance since I choose to put my son in a daycare that costs $200 a week instead of a daycare that costs $100 a week, I am getting more child support. Which kind of sucks for him. But whatever.

We have the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) that will make sure everyone pays. Child support is directly pulled from the guys paycheck.

With that being said my BD is $130,000 behind in child support lol.

We are the same. Tanners BD has met him twice in his life, in court. I am giving up that child support because my and my husband, Tanners dad (not bio), are adopting him.

it doesnt calculate it for you but it tells you want the percentage is. My friends ex works in Afgan. and is a selfish f**k. he told her she would have to find her own way to feed the newborn they just had and this a*****e made like 165,000 that year and didnt want to give her shit. But she said she figured that she is suppose to get like 32,000 a year from him after she did her own calculations.

That's allot to be behind! So will you still get support once he us adopted? My SO is Oliver's Dad. (not bio but still) he's a good role model and he loves him. I would hate to have to see Oliver around his BD.

my youngest gets 198 of court ordered child support. he sees his dad every other weekend (his dad lives so far away) I get child support on my two middle children as cash from their dad every few weeks. It only adds up to about 250 a month at the most. I have told him many times that he needs to help out more but he is full of excuses and the court cant catch him. (he is not legal)

No. Once we have the adoption finalized BD will have 0 rights. It will literally be as if my son was my husbands. They will go back and put my husband on his birth certificate. If we ever got divorced my DH would have to pay child support (for instance)

Basically my husband and I are buying all rights to my son and giving up the $177,000 in child support we would get in 18 years.

Totally worth it to not have to deal with that f**king pig.

I went to court back in 2009. He was ordered to pay $72 a month starting the month of the court date. 3 years go by & I got nothing because he refused to pay. Then last August I finally get my CS but only because the government started garnishing his wages & the backpay for 3 years was only $800. I now get $72 a month. I could go & fight for more but he hasn't seen her since she just turned 2 & she is now 5.5 so I don't even know if there is a point. :/
