Is just for fun. I've heard that. My 7 month old is EBF with solids every few days. Did any other mommas start anything else before one? He's had a few bites of scrambled eggs (per my gma) and a marshmallow from lucky charms. I'm scared to feed him stuff to early
Both my kids started baby food at 4-5 months old and were pretty much full table food by 10-11 months.
ETA: They still needed formula. We started to mix whole milk into their formula at around that time too.
Started dd off with baby food around 4 months and she was eating table food by the time she was 11months.
DD is 9 months and is eatting lots of stuff, we're doing baby led weaning and I love it
So it wouldn't hurt him if I fed him a little more table food?
Quoting Cheeks mom:" DD is 9 months and is eatting lots of stuff, we're doing baby led weaning and I love it"
Yup, same here. DS is still mostly breastfed and some days he'll do nothing but nurse. But he is finally starting to like solids.
not 'just for fun' all the time.
Its is not needed, unless medically necessary.
My son started solids extremely slowly at 6 months and by 12 was eating a variety of foods.
With my second Ill probably do the same, just different diet.
started at four monthss and was completely table fed by ten or eleven months
we started cereal and purees very slowly at 4 months and now at 8 months we're starting table foods. He eats a small meal twice a day, still nurses a lot on demand.
DD is a little foodie. she'll be a year next week. she's been eating what we eat since about 9 months. well, MOST of what we eat. she loves pasta, potatoes, tacos, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, peanut butter, eggs, roast beef, and tons of other things. she had her first taste of food at about 4 months. it was zucchini and yellow squash casserole and she loooooved it. after that, we slowly started introducing her to food, but didn't do it consistently until she was about 9 months. she loves everything we've tried out with her.
