You can still nurse, this also happened to me with my first and we took him to the ER, LOL. Try to make sure your latch is good and contact a local LLL member or lactation consultant if you are having problems. Try to air out your nipples as often as possible and after each nursing session express a little milk on them and let that air dry.

It's fine to continue. Actually it's best to continue, so your nipples get used to it. Don't give bottles.

No problem! If you haven't gotten any yet or need more, I find that my health store carries it for cheaper than walmart. Not the same brand, by it's like 1/3 the cost.

I was considering taking her to the ER at first, I didn't even think about the fact that it could be my nipples because she went to her grandmas house yesterday for a few hours and so I was scared because I didn't know if she maybe swallowed something, had a reaction to something, etc. She seems absolutely fine though, she's smiling, sleeping, etc just like normal so i'm pretty sure the blood is from me. Thanks for responding :)

My nips got realllllly cracked and bruised and bloody but I never saw any blood from DD...we used a n****e shield so I could heal up. She ended up attached to the shield though, so we used it for 5 months :? I was afraid of her not latching correctly because that pain was not fun...I didn't know she wasn't getting anything I had a crappy lactation consultant...she suggested the shield and pumping and supplementing because it turned out DD was tongue tied so she really wasn't getting anything from me until she got her tongue fixed and I figured out I can't pump...I pumped soooo much in those 5 months and I tried fenugreek, power pumping, various foods etc all I could pump was less than an oz from each side. But when I fed her from the b**bs she was getting enough.
