someone posted this on FB. i think its probably one of the most racist "im not racists" posts ever.

what do you guys think? do you agree with the guy? I think he may have a point in that there are some injustices in the way these operations try to level the playing feild but thats just it, it was never level to begin with, whites have never had as much trouble as minorities. and at the end there he just lumps all minorities together saying "you rob us...etc".
disgusting.

I don't see how it's racist at all. I completely agree with him.

i mean i get the frustration but there are a lot of poorly directed angry statements in there.

and those programs are to try to get those kids out of the ghetto, something whites dont have such a hard time struggling with. why be jealous or mad about that?

I agree too...I have always said that other races can have brown pride, black pride & stuff like that yet if we have white pride we are racists....idk it is kind of weird how things work though.

I agree with it to an extent. But many African Americans believe they are intitled to these things because of what their ancestors faced. Some where along the way we forgot many white cultures faced slavory and injustice in this country as well at some point or other. I say if we are to truely make things equal we should eliminate these programs and simply lump everything together.

While I wholeheartedly agree that anyone can be racist, not only white people...

White people are still at an enormous advantage politically, financially, socially... that's why we don't have those things. Not that it's wrong to be proud of whatever you are. That's fine, IMO.

The fact is, nowadays only about 20% of African Americans live in a "ghetto" area. But there are poverty ridden White Americans everywhere.

But, I kind of understand where he's coming from. I have really varying views on this. I feel bad for what we've put Native Americans and African-Americans through in the past. Hell, A-M's own people sold them, we enslaved them, "freed" them, then segregated them. Of course they're going to want to stick together and support each other as a People to overcome their past. But, I don't think that our generation should have to pay for the crimes our ancestors committed.

In a perfect world, I agree with this.

But when you start looking at the wealth distribution in this country (and how much that is often tied in with race)... it becomes difficult to "level the playing field" without obviously putting some at an advantage, anyway, and taking away any of these programs that may help level it.

this exactly

like, sure be proud to be white.
Im not particularly proud to be white, maybe proud to be whatever mutt things i am (haha) but i sure am glad im white because i haven't had to face half the obstacles and stereotypes a black woman would have.

idealistically, sure everyone just forget everything that happened and the way you were raised to think, everyone gets a clean slate. cant happen in the real world, they have to work for it, and they have to make programs like that.

Here's my question, there's black pride, hispanic pride, asian pride. Programs for minorities but what about us natives as in natives of America? Wheres native american history month, where's a day to celebrate a historical native American leader. I'm half native and there's really nothing nationally celebrated for natives of the US. But we have MLK day, ceaser Chavez day and other holidays like that, but America was snatched up from beneath the feet of the indigenous people. idk i guess it just angers me that every race thinks they are entitled to something when in fact they are entitled to nothing, you gotta earn what you have imo

White people DO have a problem with that though. Maybe in America it's more prevalent among blacks but here there are just as many white people in the ghettos and living under the poverty line as there are black people.
