Pain medication while breastfeeding? TaliaKristine♥ 2 kids; Round Rock, Texas 1570 posts

I just had my daughter Monday morning (we're breastfeeding) and I was prescribed 5/325 norco for the pain which I haven't really taken much of until this morning, I took 2 (the bottle says 1-2 every 4 hours) since then LO has seemed extremely sleepy, I know newborns sleep mostly all day but she's been sleeping literally all day except waking to nurse about every 3 hours, and even then I kinda have to wake her up and get her to nurse.. I'm wondering if this could be the medicine making her so sleepy or maybe I'm just looking into it too much being paranoid? Should I be concerned and take her in??

After I gave birth to my son I never took any of their pain killers because I was just as scared as you. I believe it's fine but your best bet would be to talk to your doctor.

Definitely won't be taking anymore of it, lol.. I didn't think they'd prescribe me something unless it was safe for LO.
