How likely do you think it would be for someone who has had all vaginal births to have their fourth baby 3-4 hours after labor starts?

I'm really worried, even though it's still early in the game. I am due September 1st but I have had my last two children 3 weeks early, and my first child a week early... so I expect this baby to be sometime in early-late August. My husband has AT 3 hours away for the ENTIRE month of August. They won't let him stay home because they are already rolling skeleton crew... so they basically told him that I'd have to call Red Cross and they'd give him a vehicle to drive home in, since they convoy over. But that could take about an hour to organize and anther 3 hour drive to the hospital.

With my first I went into labor on my own and had my child 9 hours later. With my second my water broke at 37 weeks, I was induced and had her 6 hours later, and with my last my water broke at 37 weeks, I was induced and had him 32 hours later.

I'm really hoping that my water just breaks this time again because I could just have them hold off on induction until he's here, or close to being here.

I'm also really pissed that they won't give him AT off, regardless of how low they are on crew because he has a real NEED to stay. Our daughter is in a leg brace until she has surgery, and will probably have surgery sometime in June/July.... and it will take months of recovery and physical therapy. I'll be massively pregnant carrying around a 50-lb child and trying to get her to her appointment alongside our 5 year old and 1 year old baby. Plus, my husband has always been my ride to the hospital. I can't really rely on anyone else. He told his captain all of this and she doesn't care.

Vary probable.

If I had given birth at home like I had intended, she would have been born in approximately 2 hours. Since I ended up with a hospital birth, I chose to be induced early so I could make sure I was at the hospital. I didn't push and went from 4 to crowning in less than an hour.

She was my 4th. My vagina and uterus just got too good at their job or something.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? I don't know how much help they can be but it's a place to start on your end.

I plan to. I still have a while. Im hoping something gives and they let him stay because its going to be really difficult if my sughters surgery is around that time. I cant carry her around and I won't have childcare for my youngest to take her to appointment and he does not like sitting. Her appointments are long, too. I can't believe they aren't being more sympathetic. It pisses me off because they let two other guys take it off for their wives due end of August but since im not due til Sept technically they won't let him stay. Its the other womens first kids. They will probably go overdue!

AT training ruins my life.
DH is in California though. I am surprised they won't let him out of it!! That seems like a pretty solid reason to miss.

I am sorry, that IS stressful. I'd say its pretty likely that might happen.

They won't let him out of it because a ton of people are already missing it. Ugh

National Guard.
Im so mad. He hasn't missed a drill all year and now he actually has a need and it isn't granted because 748328 people decided not to show and make excuses not to come. One of tue guys getting it off for his wife being due lives 15 mins from the base they're training at! He got it off! My my husband wil be three hours away for a f**king month and I will be carting around our 4 year old, probably go into labor earlier since im prone to that anyways and he won't make it here. Hdudndidbakdgsozjaksisa. Gah. I shouldn't think about it because it's still like 4 1/2 mos away... But he brought it up yesterday and its all im thinking of.

Very likely. I was only in labor for 5 hours with my first and 3.5 hours with my second. If your first 2 were short your chances are good that this one could be shorter

id say its pretty likely...
i was in labor from when contractions started to having her with my first for a little over 48 hours. 14 of those hours were in the hospital with pitocin.

my second contractions started at 2.30AM, got to the hospital around 4.20AM just to be on the safe side (i didnt think it was the real deal) and he was born at 5.49AM with no help. the doctor didnt even make it into the delivery room from the on call room. lol

Oh okay. DH is reserves. On a happy note, at least he's 3 hours away. Poor DH is on the other side of the f**king country.

It's like WW3 for him to get out of AT. If I were you I would start talking to my OB. I would milk that shit. Then I would wait until like 3 weeks before and ask my OB if they could provide a note saying that you should be resting and it's not safe for you to do all this on your own. I know my OB would be ALL about helping.

They were fairly short. However, the last two were inductions. Im really hoping my water just breaks early again because I will have control over when they induce me. But in the same sense, the last labor almost ended with a c-section because the pitocin wasn't working so I was really hoping id go naturally without the intervention this time.

This probably won't help, but I've had all 4 of my babies in 4 hours or less. One was less than an hour! I may camp out at the hospital this time. Lol

That's a good idea. Maybe a note saying I need his help would make a point.
