If you had a young child with appendicitis, what were their symptoms? How did you find out? Was your child in a lot of pain? And how long did the symptoms last? Thanks in advance. I know I can Google this but I want to hear from someone who went through it.

They will have excruciating pain in their lower right abdomen, and possibly a fever.

I know you said appendicitis in a child but I figured I tell you what my husband went through because I figured it would be similar.

DH had been complaining of abdominal pain but dismissed it as gas pain from all the food we ate for independence day, the day after he still had pain but it was more severe and it wasn't going away.
He tried going number 2, tried to take meds...and nothing. by like 10-11am the next day he was rolling on the couch crying from the pain (and this man is a Marine Vet who only talks about going to the doc if he's fatally hurt) he was in the OR getting his appendix removed by 2pm that day.

Not my child, but my cousin. She kept complaining of her belly hurting, throwing up and was running a low fever for 2 or 3 days. My aunt thought it was a stomach bug until one night when she started screaming bloody murder holding her stomach, flatly refusing to move, and her fever spiked way high. Like a 104-105. My mom was baby sitting and she had to call my aunt to come get her from work. They took her to the ER, ran some tests and found out her appendix was about to bust. They took her right back for emergency surgery. She was 4 at the time.

So here's the deal. My 3 year old says his belly hurts but he doesn't act like it's severe. He has been vomiting for 3 days, no appetite for about 1 week. Throws up all he eats/drinks within an hour, and that's if he actually eats. He is not himself at all, basically just laying down all day. He was seen by his pediatrician on Friday and she said to bring him back if he wasn't getting any better. I am sure this isn't a stomach bug because nobody else is sick and he's not having the normal stomach flu symptoms. I think he needs to be seen again. Thoughts?

Take him in... you don't have much time to spare before it ruptures if that is it. Has he pooped. I think urge but inability to poop is also a sign of appendicitis. Good luck!

I'd take him back in if it were me. That doesn't sound like a normal stomach bug to me either.
