I think people need to get the f**k over themselves plain and simple. People get so f**king butt hurt over the silliest, stupidest shit. People need to stop complaining and realize they're not alone in the world, people do have their beliefs and are entitled to them. To take down a memorial because it is a cross has to be a new low for society.

And if you're going to be that much of a dumbass to cause an accident while trying to read a memorial while driving, maybe you SHOULDN'T be driving in the first place??

<blockquote><b>Quoting .Colleen.:</b>" You are so full of hate and anger for a woman of God. Why assume the worst of people? Even athiests don't "hate God", so idk where you came up with this anyway."</blockquote>

I am hardly full of hate and anger. I'm assuming, from other news stories, that this is just the case with this one too. People want crosses removed for no other reason other than it's offensive. It just seems to be the norm and the movement is gaining steam.

I don't assume the worst of people, I just have a plethora of examples to draw from, is all.

Unless there have been accidents, as a direct result of this memorial, I am going to draw the only conclusion that makes sense.

wow wasn't expecting such a response! :D I see there ended up being somewhat of an argument... this isn't meant to be any thing more than a rant... because hearing of it pissed me off. I mean, almost a year (would be a year July 8 since little Jasi was killed... :( ) They put the cross up a couple days after she died, so why they are all of a sudden complaining about it is BEYOND me... but people do need to quit being so touchy and get over themselves. You know what? They can say "Oh, that offends me, take it down..." Well, until they stop doing the crap (like wearing their pants at their ankles, as retarded as it looks...) that "offends" us, why should WE do what they ask us to just because they are offended? They just need to get over it. No one is making them look at it; no one is making them do anything. They don't want to see it; either don't look or go another way. I can see where some of you are coming from, but in the same sense; the only things that were there was a teddy bear and some flowers; that died within weeks of being there... so they are gone by now.

Roadside memorials never bother me personally, in fact when I see one I think how sad, or thats awful that happened. I am religious but just because its a cross don't mean oh hey a cross, its oh how sad someone lost their life there, maybe I should be more careful around this curve. People by nature love drama and gossip and it takes people thinking maturely and responsibly to say whatever and move on or just shrug it off.

Did they say it was because people were offended?

They wouldn't take it down right away, people were just in the grieving period.

That's basically what (whoever it was who is in charge of it...) told my cousin... that it was offending people and they were complaining about it. Now, if it really IS, I don't know. And by the time he got to the site; they were already digging it up... which was a bunch of crap.

that's what I'm guessing. My mom is the one who told me about it, and I don't think she has all the details... so idk WHAT was going on, or why they suddenly want to remove it.

That's sad I have 3 memorials that are literally within 2 mins of my house because my house if off a bad street. One has been there for years and is a cross w/his picture. And the other 2 are one near the train tracks which is a simple cross and one near the creek where a family lost their lives and there is 4 wooden crosses. No-one has mentioned taking them down and the one has been there for at least 6-7 years no issue and it is on private property but the owner doesn't care that it's there as long as it doesn't collect a bunch of crap.

If anything they remind me to be careful on our roads and to slow down instead of rushing. They don't distract me but give me incentive to take my time and slow down.

Ikr? I've seen SO MANY memorials... why the hell would they say something about a three yr old's memorial but not the others. I don't get it. Is a cross that "bad"? No. They don't distract me either. I'll see em, look for a split second and keep my eyes on the road. People say its a distraction. No, that's an excuse to complain ab something that has nothing to do with them.
