It's come to a point for us to get Heathen a new bed. She's got 3 inches left in her toddler bed, and it's becoming smaller very quickly.
1) It's INSANELY hard to find the 'right' bed
2) If you did a toddler bed, when did you switch them to a big bed?
I was really hoping to get a captains bed with a bookcase headboard, but all the ones I'm finding are ugly as sin.
cam went from a crib to toddler bed right after his 2nd birthday, and then a year later i got him a big boy twin bed
Around 2 years old, both of my kids went to big beds.
My oldest two went from crib to bed at about 13 months. My dad actually built them the beds, toddler height but they fit a twin mattress. As they got older he added legs. If you know someone who works with wood, they aren't that expensive to make, same concept as a captains bed, but no drawers. Actually might be cheaper than a captains bed...lol
I went right from the crib to a twin sized bed
my kids have the exact same bed, it's a captains bed with under storage.
I found a gorgeous Ashley bed on a local yardsale site for $75. Head & foot board with rails.
It will match her room perfectly.
I will switch my son when he is potty trained. As long as he has a changing table in his room there isn't enought room to COMFORTABLY have a bigger bed. An when he can potty like a big boy he can sleep like a big boy. I guess if he gets too tall before he is trained he will have to curl up! Haha. But he has a ways to go before then.
