I saw this on FB and the varying answers made me chuckle.

I suck at math but I think the answer is 20.

ETA-I am currently teaching myself math with khan academy  I got 20 because I did multiplication first, and got 16+16+4-16, then I did addition so 32+4, 36 and then subtraction 36-16=20.

That was my answer too. I was always told the order of operations left to right: division/multiplication then addition/subtraction.

People are coming with with 320, 48, 240, 4, 56, 24 etc.... lol

If you go by PMDAS, the answer is 20.

Oh wow that's crazy!! I'm not great at math, but I did enjoy algebra for some strange reason. I liked finding the variables.

I go by GEMDAS. My math teacher my senior year taught me that. G for grouping... instead of P for parenthesis, since not everything grouped is technically in parenthesis

Some people use a B...for brackets, which are rarely ever used...I'd never heard of that until recently.

I like gemdas. I'm going to keep that one in mind.
