I think it's an evolutionary trait and that in itself is impressive. Intelligent natural design.. yes, conscious design from a divine being... no.

It's funny though, just watched a clip from Louie about this... and how to all other animals we must seem pretty dumb wasting sperm all the time...

ID eschews the idea of natural selection, which is the very heart of Darwin's theory of evolution.

Isn't that what intelligent design is though?

Animals probably look at us and think, "Holy shit, there are so many of them! Stop breeding!"

I was thinking more of evolutionary "intelligent" design.

I'm confused. Isn't that an oxymoron?

Exactly where would this "intelligence" come from? Evoluti does not require intelligence of any kind. It only requires time and random mutation.

Do you look at a skyscraper and ever wonder how it put itself together?

No? Why? Because it's ridiculous to anyone with any kind of critical thinking skills, that's why.

When Jamison is older, I am going to put a ton of Legos in a container and tell him to check on them once a week, to see if they've made themselves into something. He'll understand really quickly how utterly ludicrous the whole theory of evolution is.

Do legos contain amino acids?

Look, no one has ever made ANYTHING in a lab, FROM SCRATCH. Where did the amino acids come from. We can only take from elements that already exist and duplicate what we already see.

You missed the point. Something, in the natural, NEVER comes from nothing. Ever.

Amino acids come from nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen and oxygen and those elements once belonged to a star. Some meteorites have even been found to contain amino acids.

I know what elements are in amino acids.

Who/what made all of those elements? We certainly didn't.

Then I assume you are aware of the big bang theory. And before that? At this point it's impossible to know for sure but many theories have been presented that are based on scientific principles. Just because we do not have a concrete answer for something does not mean we must resort to faith based theories to explain them.

Good luck explaining the universe. It'll never happen.

Humans don't know JACK SQUAT. So arrogant.
