VBA2C?!? *4 boys and me* Due November 22; 2 kids; Las Vegas, Nevada 4769 posts

So I'm roughly 7 weeks pregnant with my third. My first 2 births were non emergency c-sections. My first one (4 years ago), I was induced due to elevated blood pressure (not terrible, and he gave me the option... should have said no =( ) and my induction failed. So after 16 hours I had a c-section. With my second (2 1/2 years ago) my water actually broke 2 days before my scheduled c-section, but my doc doesn't do VBACs, so I just had the c-section. I really really really want a VBAC, but I'm losing hope of that happening. I know most docs dont even consider it. There was one I thought that did, but I just called and he doesn't do it anymore =( I think my only other option is a midwife, but I know NOTHING about them. I don't know how to choose one, and I don't want a homebirth (my apartment is really crappy and in a crappy area). What are my chances of finding a midwife willing to let me have a VBA2C in a hospital? Or birthing center?

Very possible, just search for birthing centers in your area and do some interviews.

I have a midwife and am attmeping an all natural VBA2C in a hospital (UIC medical center in chicago) they are very supportive. it did take me some time to find the right midwifery & find a place that allowed it. ;) GL

Seriously?

That's insane! I thought he did still, sorry! :( would home birthing be something you'd do? We don't have a single birthing center in Vegas. :(

Look in your provider directory for your insurance and see if they cover midwives..there are cnm that are 'allowed' to deliver in hospitals!

you can refuse a csection, like with your second when you went to the hospital after your water broke you could have refused the csection & the dr has to do what you say.

Timothy Sauter, though I havent seen him yet. I just called to ask if he still did VBACs and about ins. He does VBACs, but he only takes one kind of medicaid, so I just need to make sure to choose the one they take.

Hi there! I know I'm way behind the posting here, but just wanted to put out there that I am a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) who does Homebirths and Waterbirths in Las Vegas (but I am also available as a Doula for hospital births). I absolutely love my VBAC clients and only came across this post as I was looking for more information about supporting VBAC's in Las Vegas to add to my Facebook page and local resources to add to my website. Las Vegas is such a great place to be a mom looking for natural birth information, education, and support. If you choose a hospital birth as a VBAC, I can say with complete assurity that hiring an experienced Doula for a VBAC birth in the hospital will be your #1 tool for success. There are many amazing Doula's and Midwives in Las Vegas - take advantage of having such a wonderful group of women whose passion it is to help you achieve the birth you are dreaming of having. For more information about midwives, please feel free to come to my website at www.homesweetbirth.com or join us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/homesweetbirth where you can get to know other moms looking for the same thing you are. You can message me anytime on Facebook or at midwife@homesweetbirth.com for more information or with questions about VBAC's, homebirth, doulas, or general pregnancy questions. I absolutely LOVE my VBAC moms :)
