We bought some packaged ham like a month ago. We meant to eat it long ago but things have come up. It's just been sitting on the bottom shelf of our fridge. It has a sell by date of April 25th.
Would you eat it? The sell by date says it's still good and it's been in the fridge. I hate to throw food away. But I don't know.

If it hasn't been opened and when you do open it it still smells fresh I would think it is ok.

It should still be good. Just try a bite of it first.

If the package wasn't opened, then yes, I'd eat it.

Thank you all! I grew up eating only very processed food and I'm still working on cooking, I guess.

As long as it doesn't smell and it's a weird color!

If it hasn't even passed it's sell by date then HECK YEA, fair game.

Unless it was visibly spoiled or smelled foul.
