Enough fluids? MunchkinWrangler 4 kids; Rīga, Latvia 46847 posts

LO will be one year old in less than two weeks.
Currently he is only having around 26oz of fluid a day.
He has a 6oz bottle of formula when he wakes up, and throughout the day drinks around 20oz of milk from about 8am-7pm.
I can not get him to drink more than that. He has wet diapers every 2 hours but they are usually just damp... Not soaked like they used to be.

Is he getting enough fluids daily?
He is offered three meals and one snack a day. He eats every 3 hours basically.

I would say he's probably not getting enough fluids. I'm not sure what you can do, though, since he simply doesn't want any more.

I think they told me 24-32 ounces of liquids at that age, as long as he is urinating some that often and shows no other signs of dehydration it is enough. Talk to his doctor about suggestions at his appointment to get him to drink more maybe.

He started refusing liquids altogether, even when backing off on solids. He would throw his cup/bottle and refuse to drink. This is why I switched him to regular milk... So I could put it in a cup with ice and just keep offering it to him constantly. I leave a cup out at all times and hand it to him frequently and he will drink it here and there but more so just sips at a time. upon waking is really the only time I can get him to drink that whole bottle of formula. I just worry since has diapers aren't nearly as wet. His urine isn't strong at all, though, and the diapers are always damp at least every two hours and he is happy....

The problems started when my supply dried up and i had to go to formula. He used to nurse a good five minute session every two hours and also three times a night. hes never been fond of bottles since started two months ago.

He has a check up on May 1st and if its still a problem I definitely will talk to the pedi about it.

Does he eat fruits and veggies? If he does he's getting more liquid than you think :)

Lately he has been super picky with solids, too. :(
He can polish off a whole avocado, a good serving of peas or sweet potato and watermelon, but other than that hes been refusing. Heis going for proteins and grains more, unfortunately. He won't even eat his yogurt, which was his favorite.
