Which did you do or plan to do?
In your opinion is one better than the other?
In what cases is one better than the other?

I demand fed both my children. I don't think that one is better than the other necessarily but I feel that with BFing demand feeding is very helpful in establishing a supply and a bond.

I had a friend who had a premature baby and a schedule was vital.

So opinions?

edit: honestly I'm bored so this seemed like a cool discussion lol

Both of my kids were demand fed. What I found out with demand feeding is that it turns into a schedule anyway because they always wanted food at the same time each day. And it was a lot less stressful and easier to let them sleep if it was "time for a feed" and just letting them wake and let me know they were hungry.

i eat when i feel like i am hungry so i let my children eat when they are hungry......
Even my school age kids....all of them have lunch at different times at school (beween 11am & 1pm) so they are hungry at different times when they come home.

I feed on demand. If baby is hungry then baby needs food. Just like if I'm hungry I eat and don't say to myself 'i can't eat yet because my schedule says I have to wait an hour' that's just torture lol

I always do a combination of both. When they are little I demand feed and then as they get older I feed them more on a schedule. Also I EBF my younges and bottle fed my oldest.

When I'm hungry, i eat. And i get pissy if i can't.

I don't know why I'm expected to hold an infant to a different standard.
