just found out i have GD and dont get to see the nutritionist until monday. i know the main stuff to stay away from, but i feel like i am hungry all the time now, horrible time to get my appetite back huh? just wondering if i could get some ideas for snacks and meals that are yummy and filling :D
Just stay away from carbs and sugars. Everything else is fair game. Eat foods high in protein to keep you full.
I've been on a veggie dog kick. there are low calorie/low carb wraps that have 60 calories each, and each veggie dog is 50 calories. so two dogs and a wrap split in half is only 210 calories, and very satiating. there is a ton of protein there and very little calories. I dip them in yellow mustard too.
I've never had gd, but I bet that would be a safe, filling food.
Don't stay away from carbs. Limit your carb intake. Your nutritionist will give you a plan to fit your needs. She told me to have 30g of carbs for breakfast, 30g for snack, 45g for lunch, 30 for snack, 45g for dinner, 30 for snack. Be sure to eat protein! It helps stabilize your levels. And be sure to eat veggies, too :) If you still feel hungry, she told me to eat more protein. Good luck, dear.
