Well, it is still on the main page. I read through the thread.
I also had both of mine pierced but once pregnant decided they should come out because I would be breast feeding. With that said, I was worried about things like an infection, something getting caught, them getting in the way, pain (getting milk was painful enough and the rings just added to that) so I think once you get that far you may not want to keep them in. I also had mine for 4 years and they didnt close up till after I was done breastfeeding (when my boobs went back to "normal") so if that is a concern they should be fine. As for the sexual stimulation, that is false information and if breast feeding is not for you then you shouldn't be judged for that. Just make sure you are making your decisions using correct information.
<blockquote><b>Quoting Ludwig Von Koopa:</b>" I was wondering... Can I pump milk out my breast with a breast pump while wearing my nipple rings? ... [snip!] ... so yea...is it safe or possible to pump milk while wearing the nipple piercings? would appreciate the feedback ladies!"</blockquote>
Why don't take them out when pumping and putting them back in fast after. They won't close since the milk while come out the holes will mine did. I did remove my nipple rings do to the worst pain in the world but month after even 3 years after I took them out I still get milk coming out the holes
Since you are a new mother, you do not actually know how a breast pump works. A nipple ring would not be a good thing to have when you are pumping because the pump actually pulls your nipple and surrounding area like into the pump to "suck" the milk out and I am just guessing with this information having a nipple ring on during this process could be extremely painful.
Wherever you read that needs to get shut down. Babies don't see it as anything sexual. It's their instinct to know that's where food is from! It's like bottle fed babies NEVER have a fetish for bottles when they are older. /fp
You can however breast pump with piercings you just have to take the bar/ring out pump then sterilise the piercing salt water was your nips then place it back in. It's a hassle but it worth it to keep your child healthy.
I suggest taking it out and breast feeding for as long as you want then re-piercing. It isn't about you anymore remember you have a little tyke to look after.
I breast fed my son and there is nothing sexual about it. God gave women boobs so they can feed their babies. Back in the old days that was the only way to nourish your baby. You have to be careful on what articles you believe in when you are reading online or in papers. People will write anything. Breastfeeding is a good way to bond with your baby and it gets you back to your prepregnancy size quicker. and I would think that it would hurt to much to leave your nip rings in while pumping or feeding. Your nipples get really sore sometimes even without a piercing. God designed boobs to feed babies!!!
I get that it's weird to think of someone sucking on your breast for food...freaked me out for months when I decided I was going to breastfeed. The day he was born, I was uncomfortable about how it was going to feel, but honestly it's a lot easier than pumping or mixing formula. It's not weird at all. Now I think it's weird if my boyfriend even touches them haha
As for whether or not you should take the piercings out...I don't know for sure, but I'd just take them out and put them back in after feedings/pumping. Makes the most sense to me.
