I have done the pill, Depo shot and the Paragard IUD. Out of the 3 I preferred the pill because I had no issues or side effects with it whatsoever. With the Depo I had too many side effects to the point I didn't get the second shot. With the Paragard I had it for 5 months and pretty much bled the whole entire time. If it wasn't for the bleeding I probably would have kept it in. I still prefer the pill over anything though but unfortunately due to health issues I am not allowed to take it or any other form of hormonal birth control.

Seriously, though. I prefer condoms. Cheap, no side effects and just as effective as the hormonal stuff if used properly. I have a blood clotting disorder, so hormonal BC is out anyway.

Ive tried them all except an iud. The pill I can't remember. The shot gave me joint problems in my hips. The ring gave me yeast infections. Implanon was great, but the second year I had irregular periods. The patch I liked the most I think. No issues with patches.except they leave a sticky.square a few days.after you take it off. Sorry I'm Kk my phone lol

Ive tried just about everything out there except implanon.
I liked the ring until I couldnt loose weight on it. No other side effects for me though.
Currently im on paraguard and its working great. I bled for about a week after it went in. I just came off my first cycle on it and my period was more clots than bleeding but no cramps lasted 5 days and was only heavy for the first 3 days.

Birth control is usually just trial and error. If you're breastfeeding your options are limited. I usually start with what sounds like it will work best for me and my lifestyle and go from there.

So your options would be
IUD (either one)
Depo
Implanon
Mini Pill
Condoms
Natural Family Planning
