Does it really work? BRowell 3 kids; 2 angel babies; Bristol, TN, United States 3681 posts

I had to pick DD up from school today because she has pinkeye. She can't get into her doctor until tomorrow and maybe not until Monday and we are waiting on DH to get home to maybe take her to urgent care. Her eyes are really bothering her now though. She's had a warm compress on them for a while now and I tried putting Vaseline on them but she didn't like it. Anyways, I've read breast milk works... Does it really? Have you actually tried it? Will it hurt if I try? She needs something to help relieve her symptoms now and that's all I have that I haven't tried. TIA.

Your doctor won't just give her a script? My daughter got pink eye and I called to make an appointment and the nurse said they can just prescribe the med when its pink eye.

I guess not? I didn't ask, just called and said I needed an appointment because she has pink eye. They didn't even really make an appointment, I'm to come in tmr around 1 because there's a lady that hasn't confirmed her appointment and then if they can't get me in then, then they will Monday. That's why we will probably be going to urgent care this afternoon.

It does. My friend put breast milk in her husband's eyes when he had pink eye. It worked.

It's just so the drainage won't make her eyes all crusty and sealed shut. Thanks! :)
