Quoting AaliyahVal'sMommy:" Lol i kind of exaggerated the 5 pounds, i just feel like, he wants me to have this huge baby. He said ... [snip!] ... going to ask him. He said everything else is perfect, and they wouldn't want to take her early if everything wasn't perfect..."

My daughter was 20 inch and 6.9 lbs She was a very thin looking newborn too but she was healthy as could be and gained wieght normally. Some babys are just small. And I was ok with a small baby seems like they would do less damage to the down stairs lol

Agreed!
But the way he acted, it really scared me at first.
He came in asking why my baby was so small and ran and hurry up and got me on a stress test and he really was acted like something was horribly wrong, but then i come home and look up what the weight should be and every site i see 4pounds so i post the story on here and i'm told it's fine.

Ummm lol well I'm not a Dr. but I have no Idea why he would act that way. I would stress that you want to go into labor on your own... Honestly my Sisters Dr. and my own was big on induction too and suggested it as well...and I ened up being induced and really wish now that I wouldnt have gave in so easily! I think that some Dr. now and days like the option of knowing when your labor will start and doing it on thier own time. But thats just me :)

Yeah but then i'd have to deal with my bf, her father telling me how selfish i'm being because i don't want an induction.
He doesn't care that all the internet sites say im on track and i need to stop reading things on the internet and listen to the doctors, he doesn't believe anything can go wrong with the induction, i tell him and he's all "You got that from the internet didn't you?"

Wait, what? At my 35 week ultrasound my son was 4lbs 12 oz.! I don't think your baby being 4lbs at 34 weeks should be something to be concerned about! Especially consdiering ultrasound can be off by a lot sometimes! My son was born at 39 weeks weighing 6 lbs 12oz! I'd refuse induction..

Lol awww well thats not fair but ulimatley it is your choice...But if your Dr. insists that its dangerious to wait I'd listen to him/her but I would talk to him about what you havebeen told and really get him/her to answer your questions for you! :) Thats what the Dr. is there for to help you through your pregnancy and answer your questions. Maybe get another doctors opinion too if you can! But also being induced wasnt a bad experiance I just would have prefered going into labor on my own and when my body was ready.

And then i have to deal with my bf calling me selfish becasue i'm not doing whats right for our child, he tells me this alot even though i believe what i want to do is best.
I guess the only good thing is i know when i conceived her, so i do know she isn't 2 weeks off....
I don't know maybe i can talk him into getting a second opinon.

Tell him he's selfish for wanting her out of the safest place possible. Definitely get a second opinion if you can. Prayyy your doctor changes his mind!

He just doesn't believe all the problems that can go wrong cause i researched them on the internet and if i read it off there he wants nothing to do with it and he keeps telling me not to believe anything i see on the internet, even on here with experienced people.
I do hope he does!
funny thing though, I don't even think he's MY doctor, he's ust the doctor who watches over and talks to me about my ultrasounds, but he's NOT an ultra sound tech.

All of this!! :)
I would go for a second opinion..... DON'T GO IN FOR INDUCTION JUST BECAUSE AN ULTRASOUND SAYS THE BABY MEASURES 4 POUNDS THEY ARE GENERALLY OFF. UNLESS IUGR IS CONFIRMED DON'T YOUR BABY IS BETTER OFF IN THERE COOKING. I WAS TOLD MY BABY WAS GONNA BE SMALL (4 POUNDS) AND SHE WAS 6 pounds 4 ounces!

Yeah, i would be VERY upset if she came out and was bigger and turns out they were wrong and there was no real reason to take her!
But the last appointment i had after he told me she was small, i asked the OB and she backed him up.

Get a second (and third) opinion. Your doctor sounds like he's on crack and needs to simmer the f**k down. The opinions of your bf and his family or whoever don't matter... your job now is to be your baby's advocate and if they can't give you solid proof that she's better off coming out, then I would refuse induction. Especially since with an early induction, you are likely to end up with a c-section.

Nothing will help your baby dilate until the baby is ready. I was 1cm dilated until I was 6 days overdue and my waters broke I went to 3cm and was in labour for 8 hours and had my baby the same morning :) my baby girl is 2 days old today! :D

Yeah, i'm gonna see what they say her weight is.
He agreed with 6 pounds and thier still suggesting it, we can go for a second opinion, he wont go if she's 5 though, she says if she only gained apound that means she's not growing and it'd be selfish to keep her in. I feel if she's gained a pound that means she's growing though.
I'm not sure how it works like if they gain slow or if they just don't gain at all.

Babies gain 1/2 - 1 pound a week the last month or so. So if she is weighing 5 DON'T DO IT. Again the ultrasound isn't always right AND that one pound makes a big difference are u still taking your prenatal vitamins? If they take her early you're risking her going to NICU and not a regular nursery or being with you... There is a reason your body hasn't dialated she's not ready yet, maybe her lungs are not matured which means she could have trouble breathing. Get a second, third, ourforth opinion if u have to. Keep her safe...that's you're #1 priority now, not what your bf says. He's wrong in this whole situation his job is to defend and protect both you and y'all baby!
