cyst on my left ovary... Hoping to Adopt <3 TTC since Apr 2005; 16 kids; Italy 53 posts

today at my ultrasound appointment I discovered that one...i am NOT pregnant and two...i have a cyst on my left ovary. I cant schedule an appointment with my OBGYN until next Wednesday but wanted to see what you ladies think or know about them.

Can they prevent me from getting pregnant or make it harder? Could it be that its preventing my eggs from being released??

So far every single test/procedure I have been through have all came back normal. Everything is good so we have NO CLUE why we are having such a hard time conceiving. I have no signs of endometriosis, which is what we thought it could have been. So this is really the last thing that it COULD be that is preventing it.

I am only asking these questions because I couldnt talk to an ACTUAL doctor today about it all and of course I am going to talk to my actual OBGYN next week about it all.

thanks :)

I have unexplained infertility. My husband and I have both been tested and we're "normal.'' They can find nothing wrong.

I just found out in February that I have a cyst on my right ovary.

Do you have irregular cycles? I had a 5.6cm cyst removed last August. The doctor told me that a cyst won't affect getting pregnant. The only things keeping us from getting preggo is PCOS for me (which I didn't find out about til I got the cyst removed) and DH having an ok sperm count. Not as high as the doc wants it. My hormone levels came back normal too and everything else looks fine with me but I have PCOS.

My cycles are very regular and usually right on time! So I am just so confused about this whole process. I am seriously writing down everything it COULD be and then marking them off as I am being "tested" for it. DH's sperm is perfect! So its def me.

My cycles were perfectly normal too until I got pregnant for my angel. After we lost him is when my cycles went out of wack for a month or so then went back to normal now out of wack again. I've always had normal periods until this. It's not uncommon for a woman to get cysts even though nothing is wrong. How big did they say it was? How long have you guys been ttc?

I have chronic cysts. There is not a single time you could ever give me an ultrasound and not see cysts in my ovaries.

With that being said I never had trouble getting pregnant.

But could it be preventing you in some way, sure.

Chances are if you had cysts frequently you would know. If feels like someone stabbed me in the ovary when they burst.

I had this exact thing happen constantly while TTC our first DD. We were told it can make it more difficult but it's not impossible. We conceived her after almost 5 years of TTC, but with our second DD, it only took one month. I wish you the best of luck, and try not to get discouraged! =)
