Quoting Ravey Candyass:" but she's severely malnourished, and has the health of an 80 year old."

And that's pretty fucked up. But, maybe they didn't know where to go for help with it?Maybe they're broke? I dunno. Like I said-Not a choice I'd make.

oh and I totally blame the parents. Like the doctor said, it's their responsibility to teach a child proper nutrition. Of course kids go through picky stages, but you need to be the one to step up and give them multiple, healthy , choices.

This. And if there was a real underlying mental issue, they should have gotten her help.

In one of the articles there was a link to her facebook and she writes about how much she is suffering. She has a sever eating disorder. I don't know why she would do the article which seems to glorify it then.

I completely agree. My brother will literally cry for hours if he is forced to sit down and eat anything other than hashbrowns. When it first started it took my parents over three hours to get him to eat a proper meal. That was about 6 months ago and he is a bit better about snacks but meals are still really difficult. He's been evaluated and its not a mental disorder he's just very stubborn. I have no doubt that if my parents didnt take hours of their day to make him eat healthy food he would eat nothing but hashbrowns ever.

I hate Ramen noodles and would rather eat nothing...I have a fussy kid who is now 13 and would survive on waffles and pizza if he could. I too think the parents have to accept some responsibility here. There's a show on tv about people who survive on 1 thing or eat stuff that isn't food like dryer sheets. I think it's called My Strange Addiction

Right, for sure. And to me-if she didn't respond to that at all, either she has something that's an issue or they didn't really try. I'm thinking issue?

I'd think at the start, it's a kid being a kid. but after that, yeah, issues.

I saw something on TV where this girl could only eat fries. She would gag if she tried to eat anything else. It was a mental issue she couldn't get passed.
