Quoting Tasha Lee88:" I don't think it's exploitation because all the kids is asking for is likes and not money from others or something like that"

I'd be pissed if my mom took pics of me like that when I was a child & posted them on a social networking site.
She is exploiting him b/c SHE wants attention.

when you post something on FB ASKING for a response, then YES you welcome any and all feedback. If you don't want the possibility of getting bashed, you shouldn't post it on fb. it's just asking for attention.

What is it with people asking for likes on Facebook? Is there some monetary gain going on there?

Shameless social media narcissism.

Pretty much Facebook in a nutshell.

am I so far removed from society? I don't in the slightesy understand the motivation of getting a million likes for a reward for your child.

does something happen if a million people like the picture?
is it just for the attention? and why? what does she get from that?

it just seems so stupid. :?

I think if you get enough talk shows will pick it up but so many people are doing it now I don't think anyone cares anymore.

Yes, I agree with the commentor. While I would have worded it different (IRL I actually wouldn't even bother responding) I would not have shown any sympathy. I wander what people would do if I made a post of my baby after a long day playing outside and put her pic and a caption reading 'Momma said if I get a million likes she will give me a bath!' I bet that would really make me the social media butterfly, eh? Someone needs to teach me how to do the smileys, insert *eyeroll* here.

I hate all these kind of posts. I've seen the ones with kids saying if they get so many likes they will get a dog and things like that. I've also been seeing a lot of the ones saying I was born at such and such help me find my birth parents. Which I guess could be good but I get tired of seeing them  Most of the places aren't even that close to where I live.

It is but when they post it and it's not even close to where I live it's weird. like I said it can be good but it's annoying none the less. Just seems that's all people are posting is other people's stuff.

i agree with this. but as far as where they were born not being close to you, their parents more than likely moved and they have no idea where. i fully support family connection.
