Quoting Kelly&Coralie:" Read :) It can't be mixed, as per her doctors orders. Not to mention that every time in the past that I have tried to mix meds, she can taste it in the food/drink and won't touch it."

I did I also got spit up on while doing so and over looked it lol if it can't be mixed the only logical solution would be medicine syringe or medicine cup like others have suggested.

You could make a game out of it tell her to count to three and on three have her/you put it in her mouth.

I would suggest rewards but you say it doesn't work so not sure.

Also that is just the way some kids are my mother told me horror stories of me hitting, biting and kicking her has she held me down to give me my meds at that age. I guess I would also spit them out and tell her she was mean and I hated her. Glad my kids do not have my attitude completely or I would be in trouble.

Quoting Amanda Contento:" my daughter is 8 and has no problems. Tell her if she doesn't take it on her own then you will have to ... [snip!] ... takes it because it's her medicine. I'd put her in time-out and tell her when she gets out then she needs to take her medicine."

She has sensory issues. The oral aversions that I mentioned. The only thing she ever drinks is milk. If it isn't milk, she doesn't want it near her

I've made her sit in time out until she takes it. If I have to hold her down, I do not reawrd her. She only get a small reward (a sticker for her good girl book) if she takes it without a fight.

It SUCKS when they fight it. I just gave my almost 3-yo stepson his Amoxicillin and he took it like a champ, thank goodness. Does bribery work? Piece of candy if she takes it like a big girl? Otherwise, if it has to be done, the hold 'em down and blow in their face method works... but it's no fun.

i bought her favorite frozen fruits today. I put some in a bowl and said she could eat them after she took her meds. And if she waited too long, they'd melt and she wouldn't get any

She took the meds.

Frozen fruit is kind of her weakness

yup. Morning meds are "grape death" and night meds are "Mint Mayhem" lol

Both are vile to me. I think drug companies need to learn what grapes actually taste like

That is an idea, but she never finishes anything. I would never be able to be sure she got the full dose
